A full tummy tuck with muscle plication is ideal for the patient with weakened muscles and loose excess skin.
An extended tummy tuck is designed for the patient who has had extreme weight loss.
A 360 liposuction tummy tuck is designed to provide the patient with a contoured shapely figure.
Tummy Tuck surgery is usually performed in our fully accredited, state of the art, surgical facility. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia which allows you to be comfortable and safe throughout the surgical experience.
After surgery, the patient is fitted with a compression garment. This helps to ensure the tummy tuck scar will heal properly as the incision must remain tension and pressure free during the early weeks of healing. Patients generally require 10 days off from work after surgery. Walking is permitted and encouraged the day after surgery, but strenuous activity and heavy lifting are limited for six weeks. Swelling will be present initially following surgery and subsides during healing. The final results are typically seen 3 months after surgery.
Most patients are concerned with the length and placement of the surgical scar. Dr. Schlechter is a skilled surgeon who takes tremendous care in limiting the size and visibility of the surgical scar, choosing to keep the incision below the bikini line.
